Winter 2010

From the Editor
Happy New Year and Welcome to the Winter 2010 Update of the Society for Humanistic Psychology Newsletter. This edition contains the Executive Board Meeting Minutes as well as the Minutes from the Business Meeting of the Society, both of which were held at APA in Toronto this past August.

I am very pleased to present an exceptional paper by Fordham University Graduate Student Sarah Kamens who illuminates the many controversial issues being discussed regarding
the future revision of the DSM-V. This paper promises to generate much interest, discussion and response from our readership and the broader psychological community.

Ed Mendelowitz has contributed another extraordinary piece in his Humanitas column, entitled “Solaris: (Interstellar Space)” and Niela Miller shares her “Artist-Therapist Travels with Art Processes in Gestaltland.”

Two Transpersonal conferences are also happening soon: Consciousness Revolution: Transpersonal Discoveries That Are Changing the World and Spirituality in Action.

Students & Members: If you would like to share news regarding publications, presentations, and achievements, personal reflections on being and becoming a humanistic psychologist, or submit a professional paper, please forward them to me at We now have a Newsletter Review Board for paper submissions.
